The MIddle ages
Humans had now overcome the threat of wild animals and domesticated a few. The medieval times or the "dark ages" were characterized by kingdoms and wars. Infant mortality was skyrocketing.
Children were considered imperfect adults and were married off by the age of 12-14. Their play was still largely activity based but revolved around emulating adult life. Gender roles were inculcated so as to prepare children for their adult life early on.
music was distinctively different for court consumption and the common folk. The divides in newly formed societies were evidently manifested in all forms of play as well.
